Make your Team Thrive,
Not just Survive

Learn about two types of team that exist in every organisation.  If you don’t know which type of team you are in, you and your team mates might make things worse rather than better.  Use our eLearning to understand and develop your team.

IT’S PROBABLY NOT WHAT YOU THINK

When a team struggles, leaders reach for the usual explanations

Sound familiar? These are the things leaders usually say when a team isn’t working.

We don't communicate enough

It's a team of leaders rather than a leadership team

There’s too much politics.

People aren’t aligned.

The team doesn't seem to work together. Why not?

Sometimes this is a sign of dysfunction – but not always.  Some teams need to work apart to perform.  Others need to work closer together.  All need to be clear on their purpose and meet together to create the value that only that team can.  But what the team does when it meets and how it creates value really does depend on the type of team that it is.

Is it dysfunction? Or is it a different team type?

Most organisations have two types of teams within them.  These teams are where the connectedness in organistaions exist.  They are what holds the organisation together.  But they don’t all look or behave the way we are told they should.  Not all teams exist to work together to achieve a common goal!  Some teams don’t actually work together, but still create (or could create if they were encourged to) huge strategic value.  The eLearning below explains both types of team, why they are different and how to develop each type differently.
